Blog Entry:

As we figured we were the only ones at the campground last night. Lesa put out the GoPro and again got an amazing northern lights show.  We will eventually post her northern lights and my drone videos to our YouTube Silis Pack channel later this year. Not many pics for today and what there was is from Lesa taking them while I was driving. We decided that we were going to drive the whole Klondike hwy today and get onto the Alaskan hwy and past Whitehorse. So we knew another long day was ahead, 9 hrs. 28 min. to go 366 miles.

We did stop in Whitehorse and went to a car wash where I got as much mud off as I could, still dirty but not as muddy. Stopped for a few groceries also. So another long day over 9 hours, and two cookies for the pups. Well we are not in a campground tonight they appear to all be closed as of Oct. 1st. There was a rec area we figured would be open because they don't usually close and we thought we would stay there tonight but they were closed also so on down the Alaskan hwy.

We are staying at a pull out next to the hwy above a boat launch where the boat launch says no overnight camping so we are hoping we are ok at the pullout where there are no signs. We are glad it is a weekday and not a weekend.  Guess we will find out later tonight at some point, lol. Wow what a temperature swing from the last 8 days. Low was 24 when we got up but the high today was 55 and beautiful blue skies.

When we came through here 8 days ago the trees were in full fall colors and today most of the trees had no leaves and the mountains around Whitehorse had snow on them, which is no surprise considering what we went through the last two days. We are all tired from some hard driving the last week. One of the reasons we pushed today is so that if all goes well we will be in one of our favorite places tomorrow, Boya Lake. We hope to stay a couple of days. Marnee told us she would leave the gate open for us and we are hoping she does.
