Blog Entry:

Well that was an interesting night. Traffic did slow down so that was good but you still heard the occasional semi's. Talking to Lesa it sounds like I slept the first the part of the night and she slept the later part, saying that I'm not sure anyone got much more than 4 hours of sleep.  Well except Granger he pretty much snored the whole night.

Pushing it yesterday did work we made it to Boya Lake just after 2 pm with stops for gas and Sammie's. Alaska Hwy was in great shape and I was able to haul butt anywhere from 65-75 mph. You might think that is fast but I had locals passing me easily doing over 80.  Most camp chores and vehicle chores got done this afternoon so we can concentrate on the Sammies tomorrow and relax.

Pups were so happy to be at Boya and as Marnee promised the gate was open! A few walks down to the boat dock and around our area of camp in the back forty, dinner for everyone and Kevin and Lesa having a campfire tonight. There are 3-4 others here but they are all down by the lake.  We like it back here in the woods away from everyone.

We did notice a dusting of snow on the high peaks and they are calling for about 10% snow tomorrow night so not much should fall. I noticed the larches are now out on the upper Cassiar Hwy, they were still green on the way in almost 3 weeks ago. Larch is a pine tree where the needles change color to yellow, then brown and then fall off and grow back their needles. Very cloudy right now but hoping this wind will blow the clouds away tonight so Lesa can get some more northern light action.

Oh yea, what the hell with the mosquitos, we haven't seen one of them for weeks and down here it is in the 50's and they are out. Thermacell to the rescue.
