So cozy in the camper when we woke up 46 degrees. Such a wonderful, quiet, relaxing night around the campfire! Everyone so relaxed, Boya Lake just does that feels like our home away from home. Haven't seen Marnee yet and we might not since the campground is officially closed. Which means we can stay for free but glad I was keeping wood from the other campsites we have been in so we can have a fire last night and tonight.
Lesa made pancakes for everyone this morning, yummy. The pups get pancakes when she makes them, they love pancakes! Mine are chocolate chip the pups are not! I'm always outside doing my chores when she is cooking breakfast, sitting here watching the intenseness of them watching Lesa as she makes breakfast so funny. So nice to be able to just take it slow this morning after the go, go, go of the past few weeks.
Not sure how many people know this but you see the mushrooms stored in the tree branches, that is squirrels stashing them for the winter. They have to be careful and make sure the gray jays or camp robbers don't see them because as their name says they will rob them. Partly sunny skies most of the day today made it a pretty day.
Took the drone up and got some really good video of the lake and surrounding area. Lake is much bigger than the pictures show with all kinds of little bays. In the afternoon we all went for a short hike on a trail around a part of the lake we had never walked before. I is over by the boat launch and day use area and is usually pretty busy. There was a float plane there that came in sometime we never heard it. Lesa mentioned it looked like they were dropping someone off and possibly waiting on someone else to come since the pilot was the only one there when we came back and the car and gents were gone. The hike was very nice through the pines, alders with views of the lake now and then. Love how blue this lake is. Lesa and I tried the rosehips which to us tastes like apples. Some say watermelon. Lesa also found a small hornets nest. As you can see the trail is littered with the leaves of the alders and the colors are not as vibrant.
Winter is for sure just around the corner as you see the snow in the mountains. The pups had a great time on the trail as did we! Lots of people coming in tonight some look like locals and it is Friday night, some look like us heading south and then we saw some YouTube video content people come in that mostly live in a moving van that has been converted for them to live in. Watching all of them come in while we sit around the campfire enjoying the evening. Have enough wood left for one more small campfire.
