Blog Entry:

We woke up to 28 degrees outside and 52 degrees in the camper. All four windows were open in the camper it is amazing how much heat two people and two pups put out. Again, such a nice night last night at the campfire in Boya Lake.  Started off where we left off on the Caribou highway, at 10:17 AM we were in the Yukon, about 5 minutes later we were on highway 1 the Alaska highway. Very pretty blue skies all day with a few puffy white clouds here and there.  Lakes, rivers, mountains, trees turning yellow and a very easy road to drive.

We are now in the Yukon!

We stopped at Teslin lake this afternoon for an a bit of an extended walk along the lake shore for the pups.  Well I took them for a walk while Lesa uploaded the last two days to the blog. Moxee of course had to go into the lake and chase the waves breaking on shore. We usually stay at Teslin lake campground but we seem to still be ahead of schedule so back on the Alaska highway.

We usually do something different every trip and this one we are counting the different types of truck campers we see. Finally on day 4 we passed an Alaskan camper at 2:11 going south.  They were flashing their lights and we were waving out the front window at them. Needless to say we are a small cult, lol! For those of you that don't know, the men that worked on building the Alaskan Highway used these campers for lodging during that time..

We got to Whitehorse and gassed up.  One thing about this city it is spread out and it seems like it takes forever to get through it and you're not even going through the city center. It has been over a decade since we have gone to the Dalton first and since we seem to be ahead of schedule we knew for sure we would be staying somewhere we have never been before.

We decided to drive back on a nice sandy, gravel road 23 kilometers to check out Kusawa lake. Worth the drive for sure, beautiful lake and very nice campground. Camp set up and took the pups for a walk down by the lake and sure enough there goes Moxee into the lake, good thing we keep her on a lead.  Campfire is already going as I type this up waiting on dinner. Two nights in a row with a campfire, so relaxing.  We should be in Alaska tomorrow.

We did a night lapse video capture and caught some northern lights, green and pink.
